Facts
- The
Good Neighbor Energy Fund is available to any Rhode Islander
who, because of temporary financial difficulty, cannot meet
a month's energy expense and has not qualified for or received
other energy assistance funds
- The
Fund has been operating for 26 years, having been established
in 1986, and is administered by The Salvation Army.
- The
Fund has raised a total of more than $10.6 million which has
assisted over 39,750 families.
- Last
year, the Good Neighbor Energy Fund helped more than 1,350
families pay an electric,
gas or oil bill.
- Sponsoring
gas and electric companies support their respective customers'
generosity through various matching and giving programs.
- The
fund raising goal for the 2011-2012 Good Neighbor Energy
Fund campaign is $600,000.
- Last year, the Fund's corporate and charitable donations continued to grow thanks in large part to: Amica Companies Foundation; Arden Jewelry Manufacturing; Atlantic Water Management; BNY Mellon; Brown, Lisle/Cummings, Inc.; Capital Properties; Case Construction Co.; Celebrate Rhode Island; CVS Caremark; Empire Loan; Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund; Gardner Woodwrights; General Dynamics; Goldline Controls; Haffenreffer Family Fund; Johnson & Wales University; Parnassus Realty, Inc.; Rhode Island Foundation; Slatersville Congregational Church; Textron and employees; Thomas H.
